The video has over 500 million views on YouTube and growing. But what actually gave them the big break and made them the sensation they are today was '#SELFIE'. In 2012, they released a single titled 'Erase' with Priyanka Chopra, an Indian actress and singer. They started off to build a fan following by remixing some popular indie tracks.
And a couple of weeks later they already had a major label deal with Republic Records.īased out of New York, the duo came together back in 2012. What possibly started off as a joke, turned into a viral sensation which got picked up by Dim Mak Records.
The hit machine, consisting of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall first came into the radar with their song '#SELFIE' in 2014. The Chainsmokers are a DJ/producer duo that since a while now, just can't seem to stop making hits.
